questions
commissions
How does a commission work?
First we talk: you tell me the story you'd like told, whether it's a couple, a family, a community or a place. I then sketch a first idea for you to look at and comment on, before drawing the finished artwork. [Leon: how many rounds of changes are included?]
How much does a commission cost?
It depends on the size and how much is in it. Get in touch with a few words about your idea and I'll give you a quote. [Leon: add a "from £…" price if you'd like to give a guide.]
How long does it take?
Usually [Leon: e.g. 6 to 10 weeks] from our first conversation. If you have a date in mind, such as a wedding, tell me as early as you can.
Can you work with me if I don't live in London?
Yes. We can talk by video call, and the finished artwork is posted to you.
Do you paint murals for businesses and public spaces?
Yes: walls of breweries, bars, community centres and whole buildings. Get in touch to talk about your space.
ketubot
What goes into a ketubah?
I sit down with the two of you and learn your story: how you met, where you've lived, what you love. All of that becomes the picture around the text of your vows, so that everything in it means something to you.
Which text and languages can you use?
Any text your rabbi or officiant approves, in Hebrew, Aramaic, English or other languages, side by side. [Leon: does the couple or the rabbi supply the text?]
prints and the shop
What kind of prints are they?
Giclée and canvas prints, many of them limited editions. Each product says which it is, its size and the size of the edition.
Are the prints signed?
Yes: each print is hand signed by Leon and individually numbered, and comes with a certificate of authenticity signed and stamped by Leon. (Some prints, such as the London Jewish mural, can also be ordered signed digitally.)
Can I have my print framed?
Some prints offer framing in the shop. For any other piece, framing is available by special order: ask me.
Can I get a larger size?
Often, yes. Ask me about the artwork you have in mind.
Can I choose my Haggadah page print later?
Yes. Tick "I'll choose later" when you order, and tell me the page once your copy of the Haggadah arrives.
Which currencies can I pay in?
Pounds, dollars or euros: use the £ $ € switch in the shop. You pay the price you see, in that currency.
How do I pay?
By card, on Stripe's secure payment page. Your card details never reach this website.
delivery
Where do you ship to?
Most countries worldwide. Postage depends on where your order is going: for the Haggadah it is shown on the shop page, and for prints it is added on the payment page, before you pay.
How long will my order take?
Orders ship from London or Washington DC, and I aim to send them within a week. Some prints are sent in batches; their product page says so.
Can I return something?
Yes, within 14 days for books and ready-made prints. Things made especially for you can't be returned unless damaged. See the returns page.
My order arrived damaged. What now?
I'm sorry! Send a photo through the contact page within [Leon: e.g. 7] days and I'll replace it.
